Mykonos Town Photo Guide

Mykonos town is known for the luscious cookies and cream stone floors and the washes of blue everywhere. I can’t help it, I’m seriously in love with the Greek aesthetic! We went to town every day to just wander and get lost in the cute little alleyways. Also I figured I’d mention this since I didn’t know this either before going – the town is extremely walkable. You can get there by bus from all the major beaches in 10-15 minutes. And you can totally see all of the town center in around 2-3 hours or so. We went in May, and it wasn’t very crowded at all. Many days we got to town in late afternoon and were still able to find really quiet places to ourselves. In the summer, I’d definitely recommend waking up early in the morning to have a nice stroll around town to really enjoy the town without a million people bumping in your way haha (but that’s just me!)

Bougainvillea Deluxe

Bougainvillea must be the Mykonos flower, because its everywhere! My favorite was in front of Katrine (save the coordinates here). You can also have lunch/dinner here too (how perfect does that sound!?)

Hun, I’m ready to move in

All the houses here are so incredibly stunning and the best part are, that they’re everywhere (haha!) You can tell that the locals really do live in town. Also something I do want to note for those “early bird gets the worm”-ers, you don’t have to visit here at early hours. We came most days at around 5PM when we were done with other activities and still found cute little alleyways to take our photos.

Blow me away

I love the Greek windmills. It’s perfect to come here (save the coordinates for the Kato Mili windmills here) for sunset. My photo tip is to climb to a windmill in the back (because most people just take it from the front), and you’ll get it all to yourself without any tourists hehe 🙂

Bring me to Church

Panagia Paraportiani Church in Kastro is one of the most picturesque churches! This church stands out to me in particular, because it’s very different from the blue dome-d churches in Santorini. The all white is so pure and perfect for any minimalism lovers. Save the coordinates here for the church.

Let’s get lost

The last tip is to just get lost! There are so many little alley ways that are perfect for photographing! You’ll see laundry, how the locals live, and that’s my favorite way of seeing a city.

Hope you enjoyed my photo guide to Mykonos! Stay tuned for more in Greece… xx Molly
