I have a major crush on treehouses, like major. I stayed in my first one earlier this year, and have been on the hunt to stay in so many more. They make for a perfect little “stay-cation,” and brings out the whimsy soul in everyone. I’ve listed out some that I’ve stayed at here, and also a couple that I’ve been lusting to go to as well. Treehouse in the Vineyards in Santa Cruz
Time from San Francisco: 1 hr
This treehouse is in a vineyard, do I need to say anything more? It’s also one of the highest treehouses I’ve ever stayed in, which means you get an incredible view of Monterey bay at night. Want more details? Read more about my cozy stay here.
Treehouse with Ocean View
Time from San Francisco: 1.5 hrs
This is by far one of the largest treehouses I’ve seen. It has 3 bedrooms and can house up to 6 people, making it perfect for a friends getaway. The interior is minimal, and reminds me of clean Japanese aesthetic.

Rustic and Quaint Treehouse
Time from San Francisco: 8 hrs
This Treehouse reminds me so much of Joshua Tree House but in a Treehouse version! I love the delicate details on the outside, and the dark wood contrasted with the white linen on the inside. The interior is to die for, and would make for an amazing photo session.

Redwood treehouse in Santa Cruz Mountains
Time from San Francisco: 1.5 hrs
This treehouse is very much nestled in the woods. There’s even a very small hike involved to get to this treehouse (5 min tops). I love this treehouse because it has an outdoor hot tub, perfect for those afternoon/evening soaks.
Treehouse on EZE Farm
Time from San Francisco: 6 hrs
Imagine yourself waking up to the smell of orange blossoms, the sound of chickens, the mountain breeze. This house is on a farm, and it looks sooo so cozy, the coolest away-from-home experience.
