Lavender Fields in San Francisco

So… it’s that time of year where your entire Instagram feed is turning purple from the lavender fields. Yeah, yeah?

Two weekends ago, I visited the most dreamy lavender fields with two of my favorite ladies, Cherrie from @cherrielynn and Jules from @finding.jules. I was super excited to meet them because I’ve been crushing over their travels for so long (go check them out if you haven’t yet already!) Our schedules happened to align that weekend and we made a trip north of San Francisco to see the lavender fields at Monte Bellaria.

When you think of Lavender fields, most times, you’d probably think of the beautiful fields in South of France. San Francisco…  probably doesn’t come to mind. So when we got to Monte Bellaria, we were surprised! The fields are huge with endless rows of lavender. The smell of lavender is everywhere (I guarantee you’ll go home smelling good 👌). It’s seriously a field day for anyone who loves flowers, lavender, or photography.

Monte-Bellaria is a local, family-run business. You get to meet the owners and they are so gracious. While visiting the farm is free, I highly recommend bringing some money to support them. They have a tour of the lavender farm every hour starting at 11 ($5 per person). And they also have a small gift shop where you can buy lavender products from their farm.

MY TIPS: I definitely recommend visiting right when they open at 10AM. It starts to get really hot in the afternoon, especially in the summer! Also bring cash for any souvenirs, and bug spray (warning: there are lots of bees!).

Name: Monte Bellaria
Hours: Saturday and Sunday 10AM-4PM

Have fun exploring, and let me know if you plan on visiting!

xx Molly
